Hi! I'm also reading the LDAP howto on http://www.unav.es/cti/ldap-smb/ldap-smb-2_2-howto.html . It says, that samba 2.2.x needs "only a few basic entries are required: nobody and administrator BUT an account uid=root MUST be present". It also says, "Create basic ldap records; with the ldapadd, add these 3 records; note that gidnumber and uidnumber must be the same that in /etc/passwd and /etc/group files: ". So these 3 records also have to be known to the linux system without using LDAP? Since I already have nobody and root, I must add a administrator account?
