[Samba] "permission denied" problem between Samba 2.2.3a and Mentor Graphics database
I'm no expert but this sounds like it could be the same bug that i suffered from when i tried to upgrade from 2.0.X to 2.2.X. Try looking at the debug log and see if you get a message along the same lines of the extract from my log below.> unix_clean_name [common/config/.root.passwords] > [2002/02/21 11:15:44, 4] smbd/open.c:open_file_shared(779) > calling open_file with flags=0x0 flags2=0x0 mode=0644 > [2002/02/21 11:15:44, 2] smbd/open.c:open_file(216) > INSTALL opened file common/config/.root.passwords read=Yes write=No > (numopen=1 > 0) > [2002/02/21 11:15:44, 3] smbd/posix_acls.c:unpack_nt_owners(443) > unpack_nt_owners: unable to validate owner sid.I have not yet found the cause of this but I'm hoping it might get fixed in the next release (2.2.4?). Sorry i cant help but i think we will have to wait for the developers to fix it. Cheers Tom
