samba - Apr 2002 - map system=yes doesn't work for directories

I would like to be able to set the system attribute for a directory that is
located within a Samba share but the map system=yes tag does not seem to
work for directories, only files.

Is there a way to set the system attribute of a directory?

Appreciate any insights.

This is what the smb.conf(5) man pages indicates IIRC.
Think about it for a second.  Do you really want to use 
the 'x' bit on a directory to represent a DOS attribute?
