When I try step #8 (diagnosis.txt), it says C:\net view \\testsrv Error 86: The specified network password is not correct. Type the correct password, or contact your network administrator for more information. The other steps work up to this point. Any suggestions as to why we get this? I'll also this again...does ANYONE know if it's possible to set up Samba, where we ONLY authenticate at the NT-PDC and as long as their username/password are valid, they can map to whatever shares are valid for their particular workgroup, as defined in the smb.conf? We're trying to avoid creating a matching username/password at the Unix O/S level. Thanks for any help. I do not use this option, but have you read about: security = domain in man smb.conf ? Joel On Thu, Apr 18, 2002 at 10:20:35AM -0700, Darin DeCounter wrote:> this?
