I had the same problem with our Deskjet 2500c. From what I could tell it
was a driver compatablity problem with Samba. I was never able to get it
working, hope you have better success than I did. If you have any
LaserJet's around I would suggest setting them up just to verify Samba is
working fine.

privaleges to print and write files to the tmp directory and the printer
spool directory.
Please help. I simply cannot figure out what I am doint wrong
