[Samba] winxp + sambs 2.2.3a (as PDC) + printers = no go
Greetings. Here's my scenario: 1) I have a linux box running samba 2.2.3a, configured as a PDC. 2) I have a WinXP laptop that attempts to use the printers that are configured on the samba server. NOTE: XP Laptop is NOT, repeat: NOT, in the domain that the samba box controls. The XP boxs is part of a workgroup instead. 3) XP box can see file shares on samba box fine. Just printers, at the moment, explode. 4) samba box has valid printer drivers installed on it (installed via a win2k box). 5) When XP box tries to open a printer on the samba box (via double-click on the printer in the samba box's share list), the dialog claims "xyzprinter on samba_host Failed to open, retrying" And log files claims: [2002/03/05 17:20:45, 0] libsmb/cliconnect.c:attempt_netbios_session_request(977) attempt_netbios_session_request: KW-VAIO rejected the session for name *SMBSERVER with error Called name not present [2002/03/05 17:20:45, 0] rpc_client/cli_spoolss_notify.c:spoolss_connect_to_client(73) [2002/03/05 17:20:45, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(38) ==============================================================[2002/03/05 17:20:45, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(39) INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 21953 (2.2.3a) Please read the file BUGS.txt in the distribution [2002/03/05 17:20:45, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(41) ==============================================================[2002/03/05 17:20:45, 0] lib/util.c:smb_panic(1064) PANIC: internal error [2002/03/05 17:20:45, 3] smbd/process.c:process_smb(860) Transaction 1 of length 137 (kw-vaio is the XP box [duhhh]). Sig 11 eh? Not nice. So, who, what, when, where, why, etc etc etc? All of this workes fine with samba 2.2.1a ("fine" := "no INTERNAL ERROR"). And it seems to work fine (still) when win2k talks to 2.2.3a. Please note: Apparently I can print via the XP box, it just doesn't show me anything in the silly-ass GUI. TIA.
