[Samba] Server Manager - Add Share Problem ... it won't :-(
Hi, I'm currently investigating implementing a Linux-Samba (RedHat 7.2 and Samba 2.2.3a) based domain solution. Whilst determining how best to administer a Samba server I started using Server Manager for domains which I understand should allow the creation of shares. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to work for me. I've included the following lines in the smb.conf file and copied the sample script from the examples directory included with the source code into /usr/local/bin. add share command = /usr/local/bin/modify_samba_config.pl change share command = /usr/local/bin/modify_samba_config.pl delete share command = /usr/local/bin/modify_samba_config.pl When I try to add a share with Server Manager I get the following Windows error message : "The procedure number is out of range" Info : I've already created the intended share directory on the Samba server and I use a "Windows" path format in the Create Share dialogue box e.g c:\home\data\share2 for /home/data/share2 Checking the samba log file I find : [2002/03/04 18:38:04, 0] rpc_parse/parse_prs.c:prs_mem_get(452) prs_mem_get: reading data of size 4 would overrun buffer. [2002/03/04 18:38:04, 0] rpc_server/srv_srvsvc.c:api_srv_net_share_add(301) api_srv_net_share_add: Failed to unmarshall SRV_Q_NET_SHARE_ADD.
