Hi Richard,
I don't do KDE, but if you want to open a terminal window...
Type: rpm -qa | grep samba
you should see three files listed: samba-common*, samba-server*, and
samba-client*
If your search brings up no results, skip ahead.
If your search brought up the above,
Type: rpm -e samba (this will delete all existing samba rpms.
Now, type: rpm -ivh samba-2.2.3a-20020206.i386.rpm
The package should install without protest. If not, email back the error
you get.
