I'm running Samba 2.0.8 under FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE. Everything seems to be working OK, but I keep getting the following messages in the log files for the various machines (running Windoze98): [2001/10/24 08:57:03, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(550) tomcat (199.33.206.20) connect to service kory as user kory (uid=100, gid=20) (pid 32751) [2001/10/24 23:42:15, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(583) tomcat (199.33.206.20) closed connection to service kory [2001/10/25 09:29:44, 1] smbd/reply.c:reply_sesssetup_and_X(925) Rejecting user 'kory': authentication failed [2001/10/25 09:29:44, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(550) tomcat (199.33.206.20) connect to service kory as user kory (uid=100, gid=20) (pid 37247) This seems to happen whenever a W98 machine mounts a Samba filesystem. Can someone explain exactly WHAT is failing? I'm also getting pretty poor performance, as compared to similar hardware running Window98 as the server.
