samba - Oct 2001 - LDAP Again

I saw a few months back that LDAP made it back into the development stream
for SAMBA.  Is that still the case, and if so, which version is it available
in?

I did find in the 2.2.1a version a way of storing the password in an LDAP
server and the samba.schema was very limited.  Has it progressed to the
point where you can use the LDAP as a full login service with user
information in it like login scripts, smb group memberships, etc.?
