Hi all. I want install samba 2.0.7 with support for SSL. For the installation i typed the next: ./Configure --prefix=path --with-ssl I have made the certificates for SSLeay and i have added the next to smb.conf: [Global] ssl = yes ssl server cert = path ssl server key = path ssl CA cetDir =paht ... When i turned on smbd and nmbd the support for SSL don?t started. Which can be the reason??? Somebody can help me??? Thank you for your helps.
Hi, I think I may be in way over my head with one. I've been asked to lookint VPN type connectivity and SSL-enabled samba looks like a way to do this, but all of the documents for SSL-enabled samba refer to SSLEay (which is no longer maintained). Can openssl be used instead? Thanks in advance, Bruce Ferrell

Can openssl be used instead?Yes. Some settings have changed however, so it won't work with 2.2.1a. The CVS version already has been changed to support OpenSSL, so you either have to use the CVS version or wait for 2.2.2.
