I don't have NT, but I do have my linux box handing out DHCP addresses to
Win95,
Win98 & WinME machines. Samba is the WINS server for name resolution. I am
running Samba 2.09.
The way I was able to make everything work together required setting up a
caching only DNS to automatically update its zone files with the information
about the connections that were established. There are several good DNS howtos
out there. Some are included with the Mandrake distro. (I have mdk7.2) I say
several good howtos because you will need to read more than one to get the full
picture of how to set up the DNS. With a little work, you will have the DNS and
DHCP working together, and once it is set up, it works flawlessly. I set my
system up in February and I haven't had to touch it since.
