samba - Sep 2001 - Rather new to Samba, connecting over TCP/IP?

I have samba all setup and I have been able to connect to the shares on the box
from within the network, however  I was wondering how or if I can connect to the
shares from outside the network. I have tried from a windows box outside the
internal network to use the run command and typing in \\ip address and
\\machinename.domain.com neither work. Can someone help me.

Hi Brian,
I may be able to help. What do you mean by "outside the network?" A
concise description of your network topology and exactly what your
trying to do would be helpful.
