Hello everyone, I've recently noticed a strange problem while testing a samba print solution for our production environment. With printers other than HP models, I am unable to specify many paper sizes that should be included in the drivers. If I check the PPD files, the paper sizes *are* defined, and if I install them locally to a workstation, the paper size options exist. However, if I use the samba print server and auto-download the drivers, I cannot choose from the full list of supported paper types and sizes. For example, on a Xerox 8830 Plotter, I'm limited to Letter, A2-A4, Transparency, and Tabloid. None of the ANSI standard sizes (B, C, D, etc...) are available. The same goes for Tektrnonix printers. For example, the Phaser 850 only lists A4 and Letter as valid paper types/sizes, although it also supports Transparency and others. This is also independent of the OS I try to admin the queue from, whether I connect from a W2K or NT4.0 box, I still do not get the additional options. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you fix it. If not, any ideas on how to fix it? Systems I've tried this on: Solaris 8-108528-07 running Samba 2.2.0 Solaris 7-106541-11 runng Samba 2.2.1a Michael Zbiegiel DCS - Unix Systems Specialist Tellabs Operations Inc.
