We are using Digital Unix 4.0D, and attempted to upgrade to 2.0.7 this morning. Things apparently worked but we started getting reports of print jobs dissappearing. Up'ing the debug level we have noticed that in some invocations of the 'lpr' command, the '%p' is being replaced by '_S'. We have had to back out again to 1.19 The cfg entries are print command = /usr/ucb/lpr -r -P%p %s printing = bsd printcap name = /etc/printcap [printers] browseable = no comment = Computing Services Printers create mode = 0700 path = /usr/spool/samba printable = yes public = no NB: No changes have been made to printcap or smb.cfg, we simply updated the binaries. The bianries were straight out of the box, so to speak, we changed the --prefix and compiled with ths std DEC C compiler. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Glen Eustace, Systems Engineer - Networking, Information Technology - Turitea, Massey University, Private Bag 11222, Palmerston North, New Zealand Ph: +64 6 350 5799 x 2707, Fax: +64 6 350 5607, Mobile +64 25 500 321, Pvt Ph: +64 6 356 2562
