Hi, we have the following problem: we use a samba 2.03 server as PDC and logon server. Every user executes its logon.bat. With 'net use' we map some drives and that's all ok. but we would like to set the PATH Environment-Variable and this is our problem. If we would set it with 'SET PATH=...' only the PATH in this DOS-Box will be changed, but we need the global PATH changed. Is there a possibility to change a global environment variable in the logon script? Thanks, Simon Westhues westhues@mbo-verlag.de

It does what you need, but it doesn't work with NT. Bye! -- Denis Sbragion InfoTecna Tel, Fax: +39 039 2324054 URL: http://infotecna.home.dhs.org

HKLM for global and HKCU for per user settings. So the answer is yes but only for the user. You really don;t want normal users changing the global environment variables do you? ;) Cheers, jerry ________________________________________________________________________ Gerald ( Jerry ) Carter Engineering Network Services Auburn University jerry@eng.auburn.edu http://www.eng.auburn.edu/users/cartegw "...a hundred billion castaways looking for a home." - Sting "Message in a Bottle" ( 1979 )
