Hi- I'm finding a strange problem with smbmount (the one from samba 2.0, not the old smbfs) on the 2.2.0 linux kernel. I compiled samba with: --with-smbmount --with-automount --with-smbwrapper I am using Redhat 5.2, smbfs is compiled as a module, and mount is version 2.8a if that matters. smbmnt is installed setuid root as it should be. When I run "smbmount '\\machine\share' directory", I get prompted for the password, and then I get dumped into some pseudo-smbclient, where I have a "smb: \>" prompt, but it understands no commands ("command not found" if i type anything). The only way I can terminate this is control-C. At no point is the share mounted. If anyone can help with this I'd apprecate it, thanks! -- -Brian Ryner bryner@uiuc.edu
