Hi all, I have two samba machines running v1.9.18p4. When I try and list the shares on the second machine (calvin) fromn the first machine (hobbes) I get this: Session request failed (131,129) with myname=HOBBES destname=CALVIN Not listening for calling name Try to connect as another name (instead of HOBBES) You may find the -n option useful for this Any idea what this is trying to tell me? Hi all I guess this is probably the most asked question by everyone looking at Samba for the first time: Does samba handle unix/win95 long file names and is it case sensitive? It can display this behavior if you want it to. By default it handles long file names, but is not case sensitive. Read the "NAME MANGLING" section of the smb.conf man page for details. -john. --------------------------------------------------------------------- John D. Does anyone have any exposure with Samba and DEC unix? Can you run enhanced security on DEC and access those users/passwords with Samba? How about with NIS? Thanks!
