preserving the DESTINATION permissions, group and owner of the transferred files
I want to use rsync to transfer files from my computer to a remote Linux system. I want the permissions, group and owner of the transferred files to retain the settings of the DESTINATION file. Is this possible with rsync?

Sadly, the same is not true for owner and group. You'd have to use --inplace and leave off --owner and --group to leave files owner/group unchanged. ..wayne.. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
