[Bug 1501] New: enhancment option for temporary files
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1501 Summary: enhancment option for temporary files Product: rsync Version: 2.6.2 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P3 Component: core AssignedTo: wayned@samba.org ReportedBy: frank@debbie.xs4all.nl QAContact: rsync-qa@samba.org I would like to have an option that disables the temporary file creation and immediatly creates the destination file. Thus: when rsync determines a new copy should be made, that it will be made instantly without any creation of temporary files. The problem i have is that i use rsync to sync a large directory structure (1 million files) and that the rename action sometimes is not allowed. So the copied file gets deleted. I think this problem would be solved if there would be no rename call. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.samba.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug, or are watching the QA contact.
