Are you using a front end load balancer that does some type of
keepalive?
We use an Arrowpoint switch here, which does TCP keepalives
(basically, it connects to the port, notices that the SYN/SYNACK/ACK
handshake completes, then immediately disconnects.)
This causes my error logs to fill up with the same message.
If it''s from a lot of different addresses, it could also possibly be
simply users hitting the ''stop'' button before the page is
fully
loaded. Or even just clicking on a link before all of the image
requests have completed.
Some number of these are normal, IMHO, but I suppose you need to make
a judgement call as to whether the number of these you''re getting is
within reason for the number of requests your site gets.
