Rails - Oct 2007 - Setting Environmental Variables

Dear All,

I want to use ENV[''MY_ENV_VARIABLE''] in my ruby scripts. In a
rails
app where/how should I specify a value to this?

is it okay to put that in application.rb (in app/controller folder)

put the environment variable in environment.rb
