I''m hoping to tap the collective intelligence here... I''m a Rails programmer looking for some Flash training. Ideally it would be something of as high quality as a Pragmatic Studio class... I''m not a designer by trade but I''d like to learn Adobe''s tools and all the jive that goes with it. Any suggestions? Flash and the upcoming Apollo platform seem to be even more of a standard skill set going forward, especially if new platforms like the iPhone support it. > > They have several Flash training titles at www.lynda.com. >lynda.com looks like an excellent resource, so much so that i''m ready to throw 25 bucks down to watch some of the tutorials. before i do so, however, are there any other services that are comparable that i may want to look at first? i''m more interested in the breadth of material rather than the video format/downloadability. thanks --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. there are several way to use flash. I haven''t looked at the lynda.com for flash but have used them for other and enjoyed them. for a flash 101 i used a friends of ed book for flash 5. it was a good starting point. Then you can get into animation, video, or RIA''s If you are interested in RIA''s then check out adobbe''s flex or openlaszlo (opensource). I think adobe''s flex is "open source" or the compiler is... I''m not to sure... http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex_Compiler_Shell my 2 cents... A good place to start is http://flexonrails.net/. (I won''t plug my book, but google for "flex rails book" if you''re curious... :-) Cheers, Peter Armstrong --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group.
