[Rails] Call for contributors to create a COMMERCE WIKI PAGE
COMMUNITY NEEDS A COMMERCE HOWTO Many people are asking about the topic of collecting credit card payments and finding a provider. I need to do this for my business, so I propose we make it as clear as possible for people to get started. LOCATION http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/HowToDoACommerceSite WHAT IT COULD CONTAIN The page could contain information and procedures to: * set up a merchant test account, * use the payment module * test the site * transition to a live production site * providing an example starter credit card collection form * providing a starter database schema and proper practice around handling credit card information * how to get an SSL certificate * anything else that would help more rails sites do commerce faster CALL TO CONTRIBUTE Please contribute if you know something... the page looks very sketchy right now. I will add to it at the pace I develop my site, but I have a sneaky suspicion that lots of you know how to do this already. Cheers, Jay -- Jay B.
