[Rails] Capistrano/SwitchTower: DB activity for deploy task?
All, Does anyone know if Capistrano/Switchtower actually does anything on the database server as part of the "deploy" task? I''m pretty sure that it doesn''t, but thought I would verify. Thanks, Wes -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Wes, It deploys the app (i.e., updates the code and the symlink), but doesn''t actually execute anything (like running new migrations). The deploy_with_migrations task does the normal deploy, but also runs migrations as part of it. (Not recommended for migrations that take more than a few seconds to run, though.) - Jamis On Apr 10, 2006, at 4:48 PM, Wes Gamble wrote:> All, > > Does anyone know if Capistrano/Switchtower actually does anything > on the > database server as part of the "deploy" task? > > I''m pretty sure that it doesn''t, but thought I would verify. > > Thanks, > Wes > > -- > Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. > _______________________________________________ > Rails mailing list > Rails@lists.rubyonrails.org > http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails
