Rails - Oct 2005 - Custom validation in Model and returning back to the form

Let''s say that I have a custom validation invoked before every insert.
If
the validation fails I''m not sure what needs to be done so that the
form is
shown and the error message is displayed just like having
"validation_presennce_of :name''.
