Hi Railers, I''ve updated mysql to 4.1, and my depot (from the book) application, stopped working, giving me: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid in Admin#index Lost connection to MySQL server during query: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM products Anybody know why? Thanks.
I had this same thing happen to me just yesterday. The "Commenting out require ‘active_record/vendor/mysql411’" solution on this wiki page solved it for me: http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/MySQL+Database+access+problem Kevin> Hi Railers, > > I''ve updated mysql to 4.1, and my depot (from the book) application, > stopped working, giving me: > > ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid in Admin#index > > Lost connection to MySQL server during query: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM > products > > Anybody know why? > Thanks. >

But when I upgraded to RC2 I was getting a simliar issue. I upgraded to ruby-mysql2.7 and this fixed the issue. See this [1]. What does this 411 include *DO*? -- I tend to view "truly flexible" by another term: "Make everything equally hard". -- DHH
