A couple weeks ago at the Web 2.0 conference, we launched zvents.com, a Rails app that we''ve been working for much of this year. Zvents is a local search engine for public events (e.g. "what to do this weekend"). We''ve focused our search index on the San Francisco bay area during our initial launch, but users are free to enter events wherever they like. Tommorow night, I''m being interviewed by Patrick Norton on Digital Life TV (http://digitallifetv.com/blogs/digitallifetv/default.aspx) to talk about the latest trends in web development. I''ll basically be singing the praises of Rails, prototype and script.aculo.us - which is nothing new to you guys, but hopefully will help awaken the wider world to how cool all this is. The show will be streamed live at 7pm PST and is also available for download afterwards. We''re also looking to hire a superstar Rails developer in the Bay Area. Here''s the job post: http://www.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/search?areaID=1&subAreaID=0&query=zvents&catAbbreviation=sof Drop me a line (tyler.kovacs at zvents.com) if you''re interested in learning more. Thanks, Tyler
