I looked in my lighttpd error log, and I see a bunch of these errors: (connections.c.1281) error-handler not found: /dispatch.fcgi I''m not sure where they''re coming from or what they, and most of my app seems to be working fine - so dispatch.fcgi must be available. Any clue what could be causing this? Thanks, Pat
You likely have something like this in your config: server.document-root = "/somedir/railsapp/public" server.error-handler-404 = "/dispatch.fcgi" It tells lighttpd to call dispatch.fcgi for files that do not exist, thus all the non-static content (all that is not in images, stylesheets and scripts usually). Do you have another reference to dispatch.fcgi in your lighttpd.conf? Re: lighttpd error: error-handler not found: /dispatch.fcgi
Hey Jos, Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I have the error handler set to dispatch.fcgi. The other references to it are for my URL rewrites and the bin-path for the fastcgi.server. Judging from the error messages, it would be a problem with my error-handler-404 setting, but I have it set exactly like you mentioned, which is what I''ve seen in every example lighttpd config so far. Re: lighttpd error: error-handler not found: /dispatch.fcgi
Pat- I have the same problem sometimes. I have had Jan(author of light) look at my conf file and he''s not sure why its happening either. I have my server.error-handler-404 = "/dispatch.fcgi" set and everything. The problem for me is that the rails app I built replaces a ;arge php app that had high search rankings and many other people linking to our stories and such. So there are a lot of requests for old .php pages that seem to sneak by the server.error-handler-404 = "/ dispatch.fcgi" and give me the same errors in the lighttpd_error.log and also give backtraces in my production log which is very annoying. I have tried a number of things but I can''t get rid these errors. Anyone out there have a snippet that will catch these 404 misses? I would really appreciate it. Re: lighttpd error: error-handler not found: /dispatch.fcgi
Hey Pat- After some looking around and more googling I found this blog post:<http://rubyurl.com/SA3>. Setting this up and tweaking it a bit has completely solved the problem. No more of these at all:>>>> (connections.c.1281) error-handler not found: /dispatch.fcgiCheers- -Ezra On Oct 13, 2005, at 7:30 AM, Ezra Zygmuntowicz wrote:> Pat- > I have the same problem sometimes.
