Hi all... Considering there are many of us that come from the PHP+MySQL side, I wanted to extend an invitation to all that may be interested in applying for a job in Miami Beach, Florida to work in a wireless content production/distribution company. You might recognize the brand (later) if you watch MTV, VH1 or many of the "younger" channels. I want to implement some services in the company using Ruby on Rails. The situation is that no one in the company know about this yet. I''m holding off until I can show them something that works. Primarily b/c it will be hard to convince them to switch if they can''t see the advantages right away. The following skills are required: - PHP (I know you don''t want me to mention it but there are already plenty of scripts done in PHP and someone has to maintain them or hopefully port them to RoR) - SQL (MySQL) - Javascript (AJAX) - Web 2.0 Concepts - CSS - Some Web Services experience (at least basic concepts) You have to be standards-oriented. I''m trying to push the company into standards compliance (even though it''s proven to be very hard) and need someone proficient in XHTML, CSS and all that wonderful stuff. I have nothing against tables but if you do not regularly use CSS, and have the materials to prove it, I''m afraid we''ll get nowhere.
