Rails - Oct 2005 - SCGI spinner?

Anyone knows what happens if an SCGI process crashes?  There''s a
spinner script in edge rails for monitoring uptime of FCGI processes,
and restarting them.  Is something similar neccessary or useful for
SCGI?
