Rails - Sep 2005 - Routes, links to static pages, redirecting to root... oh my

I''m slightly embarrassed, but routing still eludes me and I
don''t know
how to do this and couldn''t find out easily. I have a default route 
like this

  map.connect ''myapp/:controller/:action/:id''

I need to do two things: Generate a link that points to a page in the 
public directory

  public/mypage.html

Get appropriate options so that redirect_to goes to 

  http://myhost:port/myapp/

In both case, I don''t want to specify the ''myapp''
prefix in any other
place than in config/routes.rb.
