Rails - Sep 2005 - killing rails every X requests under fcgi

Does someone have a solution for killing fastcgi processes after a set 
number of requests when running under apache/mod_fastcgi ? In development 
mode it doesn''t take much for the memory leak to cause the processes to
grow
to hundreds of MB, and having to manually kill it is getting old.

You could look in railties for the reaper script and cronjob it, but
there''s got to be a more elegant and/or windows friendly solution.
