Ok, I''m looking at starting my second for-pay rails project and need some advice on Rails hosting options. I''m familiar with Textdrive (I use it myself) but need to pass off the hosting management duties to the client, so I''d prefer something with a slightly better user interface. Dreamhost seems like a good option, but is anyone currently using it for a client''s Rails app? Obviously I need pretty decent performance and near 100% up-time (I just don''t want to have to be on call all the time to restart fcgi). Any other advice would be much appreciated. m
Maybe checkout www.RailsAppHosting.com they work closely with textdrive, but provides a rails app control system. Definitely check out RailsAppHosting. Should be launching any day now... Also, TextDrive will be rolling out a RailsAppHosting-like control panel called TextPanel for more general use (includes all/most of RailsAppHosting-panel functionality) soon too. That was one of the things that had to happen first.
