Hello Wondering if rails differs someway between WEBrick and Apache when doing some session work... ? Im using apache... session doesnt seem to get populated. Stop apache turned on WEBrick and it worked... Any clues on this? Thanks Eoghan
Just a clue - but apache runs as a different user. If you''re creating files in /tmp (the default method of storing sessions) that may be an issue. Try deleting the sessions from /tmp. I used to get some permission to session file errors because the same session file would be used in both Webrick or Apache scenario. The users were different, so the file pemissions were set to the first user that started rails. If that is the problem then you can change your sessions'' format/location in dispatch.[f]cgi to avoid such conflicts Bogdan On 9/6/05, eoghan <rails-JPH02XhdevJeoWH0uzbU5w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > Hello > Wondering if rails differs someway between WEBrick and Apache when > doing some session work... ? It worked with WEBrick... and when i switched on today i started apache. And it worked. I deleted the session file from /tmp cos i wanted a fresh session... and now it doesnt work anymore... Im getting the error: NoMethodError in Store#add_to_cart Im going thourgh the tutorial in the agile rails book by the way... just at page 87ish... I then stopped apache, and started WEBrick... but im getting the same error with that too now... Neither will work for me... Any clues? Thanks Eoghan
