Make sure that /usr/bin/ruby is pointing to the correct ruby interpreter. On my system, since I installed ruby 1.8.2 separately, I have an entry like this: lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 19 Aug 22 13:37 /usr/bin/ruby@ -> /usr/local/bin/ruby That is, /usr/bin/ruby is a symlink to /usr/local/bin/ruby, which is the ruby with all the good stuff installed. This clears up some library issues I had which are very reminiscent of your problem. Hope that helps! -DF On 8/28/05, Joe Van Dyk <joevandyk-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:> On 8/27/05, Joe Van Dyk <joevandyk-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I''m having difficulties installing the MySQL gem on OS X. > > > > $ sudo gem install mysql -- --with-mysql-dir=/usr/local/mysql/ > > Attempting local installation of ''mysql'' > > Local gem file not found: mysql*.gem > > Attempting remote installation of ''mysql'' > > Building native extensions.
