Hi all; currently trying to get started with Rails, I am running Debian/unstable with rails installed using apt-get install, works fine so far. By now, I try to install additional packages (most notably salted_login_generator) which is not available as a *deb so I installed rubygem. Seems to work fine, except for one thing: While trying to install the salted_login_generator.gem, gem always tells me that I need to install rails, rake and some other packages (which are there, at least I am obviously using it right now). Question: Can I (a) install the salted_login_generator in another way besides using gem (possibly a *deb package)? (b) make gem see that the required packages are already installed?
