I just discovered on my server that I had 16k of swap memory left - with 2Gb in total, this was a little worrying. So I checked the processes and it seems that rails/ruby was running still. About 150 times! I killed the processes and everything returned to normal. It seems that lighttpd isn''t doing its job closing the process when it closes. Perhaps I''m closing it incorrectly - what command do people use to stop lighttpd? If anyone is interested, then this is what was running: 16420 ?
