I have spent the better part of this afternoon, trying to get sqlite3
support running on OS X - and constantly run into problems:
I followed the description on the Wiki[1]. I already have a sqlite3
in /usr/bin.
I compiled & installed SWIG. When I do "gem install sqlite3" I get
a
complaint about a missing sqlite.h file. Googling, I found this [2]
but that assumes a built sqlite. So I downloaded the source tarball
and tried to compile it. Now I''m stuck with the following error
message in the "make" phase:
/usr/bin/libtool: for architecture: cputype (16777234) cpusubtype (0)
file: -lSystem is not an object file (not allowed in a library)
make: *** [libsqlite3.la] Error 1
Googling does not give a solution that helps (repair disk permissions).
Before this, I tried to use Darwin Ports to install sqlite3, but ran
into the same error in the linking phase.
I''m probably doing something really stupid, but I
can''''t figure out
where the problem is. Any help out there?
thanks
Jens-Christian
