Rails - Aug 2005 - Interfaces for has_and_belongs_to_many

If my model has (and belongs to) many other models then what''s the
best way to add them when creating or editing a record?

For example: if my cd model has multiple artists then how can I best
allow a user to add them all when creating an entry?

I would imagine that this is quite common.  It''d also be nice to have
some way to either ensure the values are valid (validates_associated
would do that I suppose) or to create new entries in the foreign table
if they don''t exist.

Anyone come up with anything?

Check out the new RoR movie. Think of blog comments as CD artists.  
You could get fancy and do some Backpackit.com-like drag-and-drop  
Ajax stuff. You''d also probably want to optionally specify a primary  
artist. For example, the nearly every track on the new Thievery  
Incorporated album is a collaboration, but it''s still a Thievery  
Incorporated album.

A CD has_and_belongs_to_many artists, and vice versa.
