Hi I ordered the rails book some 2 weeks ago from amazon (co.uk). I think some people on the list were involved with it? So i was wondering if they could, or anyone else, give an estimate of when its going to the stores? The book title is: Agile Web Development with Rails. Thanks Eoghan
You might want to cancel the Amazon order and order direct from Pragmatic Programmers. They now have a "beta book" program and you can download the beta version of the book on PDF *now*. I did that. Then when the print version is ready, they ship it to you and you get a link to the updated PDF. Very nifty! eoghan wrote:> Hi > I ordered the rails book some 2 weeks ago from amazon (co.uk). The PDF version is already the final one. On 8/2/05, M. You can: 1) Buy the PDF or 2) Buy the PDF + Book from the pragmatic programmers website.

I was aware the book was available as a PDF, i was just wondering if anyone had an idea as to when the hardcopy was being sent to the stores? I chose the hardcopy as I got a bundle deal from amazon. Thanks Eoghan
IIRC, I remember in the second Rails Podcast that the dead trees book was scheduled to be in stores on August 9th. http://podcast.rubyonrails.org/ _______________________________________________ Rails mailing list Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails

We''ll be shipping all pending orders on Tuesday the 9th (technology willing), and I expect Amazon and bookstores to have it around them (or perhaps shortly thereafter). Regards Dave
Good :) That means that I can stop doing my daily runs to Borders to see if the book made it there. (I already bought it at the pragmatic programmer site. Still... I''m really looking forward to it.) In the mean time I''m making progress on the PDF version.
