Rails - Jun 2005 - activerecord migration

I have hearsay from the Ruby meeting in Chicago that DHH talked about
db migration through active record.  I can see there''s some migration
stuff in activerecord.  I''ve looked at it and some of the test code
that goes with it.  I still don''t get how to use this code though.
Will someone smart talk about it?  Maybe a quick tutorial?

Migrations basically atrophied when there were no ''champions''
for
databases other than mysql.   As far as I know, the only person using
that code is DHH.
