Hi! Will it be possible to use beta gem Rails at Railsday? -- Regards, Yurii

I currently use one custom patch that allows me to put Paginator params in my routes with a prefix, so I can have URLs like /list/page3... -- rick http://techno-weenie.net
Along the same line of questionning : Am I right to think that we won''t be able to use any of the third part helpers listed on the rails site ( http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/show/3rd+Party+Helpers ) ? Similarly... Any chance of there being some of the more common libraries installed? ImageMagik/RMagik for instance? I ask since this is probably being hosted on a *nix system and the Gem for this library requires some precompiled code installed. I think a lot of people could use it, and I know it is essential for at least one of my ideas ;) .adam sanderson Along the same line of questionning : Am I right to think that we won''t be able to use any of the third part helpers listed on the rails site ( http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/show/3rd+Party+Helpers ) ? Do we have a ruling on Gems that wrap/incorporate other libraries? Are only pure ruby gems going to be allowed? And along those lines, are all allowed Gems going to be already installed or will we have to request that they be installed ? enjoy, -jeremy -- ======================================================================= Jeremy Hinegardner jeremy-eg9WJcVQRd1EMKyauTCisw@public.gmane.org

You organizers need to get this stuff organized pretty quickly. There needs to be one source of information, and that information needs to be accurate and PROMPT. Specifically, from the #ror logs for 05/28 (irrelevant chatter removed): [19:51] <cardmagic> htonl: do you have any questions about the rules? [19:52] <htonl> yeah, actually i emailed you one over a week ago, and asked casey, about rmagick gem [19:52] <htonl> i''ve also seen many other questions that i took less of an interest in [ ... ] [19:53] <cardmagic> htonl: what was the question about rmagick again? [19:54] <Casey> cardmagic: is it allowed? [19:54] <cardmagic> is it a gem? [19:54] <htonl> it requires a C library, so is it available [19:54] <htonl> yes it is a gem [19:54] <cardmagic> then yes, that one is allowed> >>> Are only pure ruby gems going to be allowed? > > Yes. > >> are all allowed Gems going to be already installed or will >> we have to request that they be installed ? > > We will have common gems setup but you may upload more gems for your > group during the competition, you will have access to the server to do > so. > _______________________________________________ > Rails mailing list > Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org > http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails >_______________________________________________ Rails mailing list Rails-1W37MKcQCpIf0INCOvqR/iCwEArCW2h5@public.gmane.org http://lists.rubyonrails.org/mailman/listinfo/rails
