Folk''s who''ve seen our other books will be familiar with Joe, the character who asks questions in sidebars. He looks like this: http://media.pragprog.com/images/joe.png He''s small, and is drawn with just 8 or 9 lines. Here''s the challenge for those of you who like sketching. Does anyone feel up to producing something that is reminiscent of David HH in a similar style? I''m looking for something to use in the "David Says" sidebars of the Rails book. The book is printed at 1200 dpi, so I''d need a fairly high resolution bitmap, or an AI or EPS file. I''m not guaranteeing that we''ll go this way, but if anyone feels like drawing something, and if you''re happy to see it used in the book (attributed, of course), then please send it to me. I''ll put anything I get up on a wiki page and we can all see what we think. The bad news is the deadline---it has to be in the next couple of days. To get you started, here are some pictures of David: http://media.pragprog.com/images/me2.png http://www.loudthinking.com/lt-files/newestMe_small_dark.jpg This could be interesting :) Cheers Dave

Just watch out for the trademark/copyright brigade. Of course, there is another celebrity, dearly departed, that might work: http://www.classiccaricatures.com/elements/other/dave_thomas.jpg Apologies in advance. Thanks to images.google.com. Thanks for the book, Dave! Clay
