Lighttpd/FCGI File Upload leads to 503 Service unavailable
I''m running Rails 0.12.1 on TextDrive with Lighttpd (via Apache''s ProxyPass). I have a file upload form that works like a charm when the file is less than 2MB. If it''s larger, after submitting the form the browser waits for about a minute then returns ''503 Service unavailable''. The logs (for lighttpd, rails'' production log, apache, etc.) don''t show any precursing error. This seems like a common/simple issue, but I''ve just started using Lighttpd, so it''s unfamiliar. I''ve seen a page on the Rails Wiki for FCGI timeout settings, but that''s for Apache. Searches in the TxD forums, Rails Wiki and Google are not showing anything obvious. Thanks, Matt

The official lighttpd is at 1.3.13 and this was fixed in the "1.3.14", but that''s rolled into the pending 1.4. But til then the source from svn works fine. Also of upload interest is mod_uploadprogress that''s in 1.4 - Jason

I also got your message on the TxD forums. I''ll build 1.4 from the trunk and try that.> Also of upload interest is mod_uploadprogress that''s in 1.4I saw that yesterday while going through the 1.4 docs. Quite exciting! Do anyone know if this is in use anywhere? If only all hosting companies were this helpful...
