My Linux distro, Arch, upgraded the FOX library to 1.4.10. This broke FXRuby and FreeRIDE. I''ve used jEdit and the Ruby Eclipse plugin, but I wanted a bit more. I just tried KDevelop 3.2 last night, which has a RubyIDE mode, and I was quite impressed. Has anyone else used KDevelop for Ruby dev? Any thoughts? Tricks? ---------- Scanned for viruses by ClamAV
I used it while I was doing a short stint of Ruby dev on a Linux box. I also tried RDT (Eclipse Ruby), which was nice too, but Kdevelop was faster and a bit closer to TextMate on Mac in terms of just a solid editor, with nice file viewer on the left, etc. I am no longer doing dev on Linux, and I didn''t really use them long enough there to say which I''d be using today, but it''d definitely be in the top two for me (hopefully someday SlickEdit will have good Ruby support). You might notice in the documentation feature in kdevelop, the pick axe book is there. :-) -Robby -- /*************************************** * Robby Russell | Owner.Developer.Geek * PLANET ARGON | www.planetargon.com * Portland, OR | robby-/Lcn8Y7Ot69QmPsQ1CNsNQ@public.gmane.org * 503.351.4730 | blog.planetargon.com * PHP, Ruby, and PostgreSQL Development * http://www.robbyonrails.com/ ****************************************/
Using KDevelop here as well, no complaints. -PJ On Apr 7, 2005 11:16 PM, Robby Russell <robby-/Lcn8Y7Ot69QmPsQ1CNsNQ@public.gmane.org> wrote:> > On Thu, 2005-04-07 at 13:54 -0600, Kevin Williams wrote: > > My Linux distro, Arch, upgraded the FOX library to 1.4.10.
