Hi, New to rails ... having a problem running the unit test suite from rake. When I try to run the tests I see: C:\home\code\rails\taskmaster>rake (in C:/home/code/rails/taskmaster) ruby -Ilib;test -S testrb test/unit/project_test.rb Loaded suite project_test.rb Started And then the process just stops sucking up 99% of my processor no matter how long I leave it. Any suggestions as to what I''m doing wrong? The process I followed to get here was: Create a table called projects in MySql with two fields (id, name) where id is the primary key. I updated the databases.yml to point to my database from development, test and production for now. From the project root directory ruby script/generate model Project Thanks, R.
I had the same problem, heres the fix: http://weblog.rubyonrails.com/archives/2005/01/15/having-problems-running-tests-under-182/ Rob Lally wrote:> Hi, > > New to rails ... having a problem running the unit test suite from rake. > > When I try to run the tests I see: > > C:\home\code\rails\taskmaster>rake > (in C:/home/code/rails/taskmaster) > ruby -Ilib;test -S testrb test/unit/project_test.rb > Loaded suite project_test.rb > Started > > And then the process just stops sucking up 99% of my processor no matter > how long I leave it. And I''m not really sure how to read the diff file to change things by hand. Is there a fixed copy of lib/test/unit/collector/dir.rb (if I read things properly and that is the file being patched) that I can download from somewhere? Thanks again for all your help, R.
open the patch file, lines that start with + are added, lines that start with - are removed, I didn''t use patch to apply that patch either Rob Lally wrote:> Francisco Hernandez wrote: > >> I had the same problem, heres the fix: >> >> http://weblog.rubyonrails.com/archives/2005/01/15/having-problems-running-tests-under-182/ >> > > > As a windows user I''m a bit stuffed on the ''patch'' side. I was confused by the diff format at first because I opened the wrong file and the two looked nothing like each other so I assumed it was more complicated than ... well enough with the excuses. Thanks again, R.
I am not a windows user, but I am pretty there are tools out there to help you. If all else fails, you can turn to cygwin. I googled up this link: http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/patch.htm I know you are using windows, but there is help out there.... ;-) On Fri, 28 Jan 2005 13:23:46 +0000, Rob Lally <ruby-TLoEj6T5Eh2QE6UZXBUcsgC/G2K4zDHf@public.gmane.org> wrote:> Francisco Hernandez wrote: > > > open the patch file, lines that start with + are added, lines that start > > with - are removed, I didn''t use patch to apply that patch either > > Thanks for your help, that works fine.
