[R] Update.packages() seems to just stop
OS: Win98 When using update.packages(), either directly or using the packages option at the top of the screen, I get the following messages.> update.packages()trying URL `http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/PACKAGES' Content type `text/plain' length 5164 bytes opened URL downloaded 5164 bytes>However, the first time I successfully managed to use update.packages(), it gave me the whole list of packages installed on R, with the options of downloading each one or not. What has changed, and how can I get back to the previous results? Do you think, there are any updated packages on CRAN (since you run update.packages() the last time)?
