I am analysing mixture experiments with Scheffe polynomials. These don't contain an intercept, which means that usual regression output sums-of-squares are not adjusted for the overall mean. I wonder if there is a way to achieve "overall mean adjusted sums-of-squares" somehow with lm()? I know the alternative is to reparameterise the Scheffe model to contain an intercept but it would be nice to be able to fit the models with Scheffe polynomials directly.
