R help - Jun 2000 - Tcl-Tk with R - TCL_LIBRARY variable

Dear R-Help,

I am having problems to run the demo for the new "TCL/TK" feature
included in
the last R version. The response I get indicates that I do not have declared the
"TCL_LIBRARY" variable. I do have installed the right TCL/TK version.

Please do you know  what is the adequate place to declare that variable ?,
I think that when installing TCL, it automatically updates a registry variable
in Windows (I am running  R, on W95 )?.
I do not know if that needs to be updated as a variable or it needs to be
declared as a library.

Although, this is not a S-Help, do you know if in the Unix Splus version (5.1) I
can use this kind of user interface via TCL rather than the dialog commands that
Splus has, which offer less customization possibilities than TCL ?.

  It must be defined in the environment from which you launch RGui or
  RTerm. Autoexec.bat comes to mind. Or the start-up script of
  the shell you are using (assuming in this case that you are launching
  R from a shell).
